Instant Tapioca Pearls Boba 50g

I bought these wanting to save the time and hassle of babysitting my pearls every time I wanted a boba.

Unfortunately, this isn't really a product that works for me.

It does everything it says on the tin, so no fear there. But it doesn't serve my purposes.

One, the small packet combined with the gel/syrup it comes in means that even after they're all warmed up, they stick together a lot. You either get a mouthful or none at all and have to stab them all apart with the straw to get even coverage, else you're left with a bunch at the bottom afterwards.

Two, 50g is a bit to much for me in a single serving anyway. I prefer to tap out around 30-40g. But that's more personal preference (Although the premium packet does say serving size 30g so that's a bit of a discrepancy). I can't see these lasting to be saved for later, and even split between two, then it's slightly less than satisfactory.

And Three, again this is purely personal preference, but I prefer a bit of bite to my boba. I tend to boil mine for ten minutes rather than the recommended 15 as it leaves it with the texture I'm looking for. These boba in the packets are definitely per instruction, so they're a bit too soft for me.

That being said, they were easy, convenient, and fast. If soft and plentiful pearls are your thing, this could be perfect for you.

To me, it's back to the stove.
