A Compare&Constrast with Pure Chimp Matcha
All cups of matcha shown are cup49.
I’m very well aware this isn’t the best matcha on the market. This is my views as someone that drank pure chimp everyday and is making the switch to cup49.
I opened the bag(70g) and noticed I was hit with a herbal scent right away. I didn’t know what to think of it. I realized later if you can smell it. Always a good sign.
I noticed the color was pretty much the same as pure chimp. Not saying it’s a bad thing it’s just a note. That’s what made me decide to put them side by side. So I made cup49. Used a frother, used about 10 ice cubes, used Florida crystals, whole milk. Then topped it with heavy whipping cream because I just like the added thickness and creaminess. The only thing I measure is the matcha and sugar. Tsp of each.
The color is more green then I was expecting but always a good thing.
The taste, the first time was bitter so I added another tsp of Florida crystals melted in water. Adding half to see if that would change and it didn’t. I added the rest of the sugar syrup. Matcha is one of those things that I feel flavor is enhanced by a sweetener. So, I tried it again and the herbal flavor immediately came through. It was good and I enjoyed it. I made the pure chimp after this and that one tasted bland compared to cup49. This is where the flavor came though and I loved it. I’m one for flavor. I’ll take that over anything else.
